Independent Therapist/Counselor
Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Independent Therapist/Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mental health counseling and crisis intervention, with a focus on providing exceptional patient care. This role involves working with individuals across various age groups, including pediatrics, adults and geriatric population. The Therapist will utilize evidence-based practices to support clients in achieving their therapeutic goals while fostering a safe and supportive environment. This position will be 60% net collections.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments to evaluate clients' mental health needs and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support to clients in distress, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Deliver mental health counseling sessions using various therapeutic techniques, including art therapy when appropriate.
  • Implement behavior management strategies to assist clients in developing coping skills and improving their overall functioning.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records, documenting progress and treatment outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
  • Engage in research activities to stay informed about best practices in behavioral health and contribute to program development.
  • Provide direct support to clients during therapy sessions, fostering a trusting therapeutic relationship.

Experience

  • A degree in psychology, social work, or a related field is required; relevant licensure or certification is preferred.
  • Experience in crisis intervention and mental health counseling is essential.
  • Familiarity with behavior management techniques and direct support for individuals with developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
  • Previous experience working with pediatric populations is an asset.
  • Knowledge of art therapy practices is a plus, enhancing the therapeutic options available for clients.
